A home game looked promising for Women’s 2s, but Denbigh had other ideas. Getting used to the water based pitch Denbigh put Wrexham under great pressure. Wrexham’s defence were called on to clear and defend. Denbigh put away their first goal in the 12th minute with a well placed goal. Wrexham still struggled to get the ball forward and in the 14th minute Denbigh went further into the lead. Wrexham built up some possessional play but in the 33rd minute Denbigh put away their 3rd goal.
After a positive halftime talk the teams took the field. Wrexham strikers began to see the ball driven into the D and started to put the GK under pressure. In the 49th minute Wrexham’s Tina Lowe found the goal giving Wrexham their opening goal.
From a breakaway Denbigh skilfully put away their 4th goal in the 51st minute. The score remained 4-1 to Denbigh. Next week they play Rhyl and District away at Rhyl High School at 12 noon
