An important message from Dave Leighton Welsh Umpires Association
So hopefully everyone knows that New Rules came into force in Jan 2019,however the Governing bodies of Hockey Wales and England Hockey chose not to implement these Rules for the remaining games for last season.

As we fast approach the new season,we will be playing the new rules this season(although thankfully not the 4 quarter Rule). With this in mind the WHUA have decided that it would be a good idea to have some Rule seminars before the season starts.

We up here in the North are planning 3 Seminars for All North East Wales Clubs,North West Wales Clubs and Mid Wales Clubs. These Seminars will be open to Umpires,Players(although they allegedly know them anyway!!!!!),Coaches and will be free to attend.

The first date officially booked is for the North East Clubs at Northop Hall Cricket Club on Monday 2nd September starting at 7.00pm and finishing approx. 9.00pm.We will have a 45 min presentation of the new rules, then a Q an A session afterwards. This will be free and anyone can attend.

I realise that everyone has other things to do than rather sit and listen to a Rules seminar but I would hope that all Clubs will send at least one member of their Club to these Seminars(Preferable Umpires) as it will make all our lives a little bit easier for the forthcoming season.

I will be in touch with North East Clubs this week and update you all on the dates for the other two regions.

If people can post on here or send me a message if you are able to attend that would be great
