After a night of heavy rain and wind, the sun was out for Wrexham’s clash with Bowden.
It was constant end to end action with Meg Jones making lots of saves and great defending by the whole Wrexham side with Amy Jones and Li Preston making some key tackles. Wrexham worked the ball into the oppositions D and Helen Roberts managed to sneak a goal from a rebound.
Half time 1-0 to Wrexham
Both teams were hungry in the second half, but Wrexham prevailed with a second goal after a fantastic driving run by Laudie Royle and some triangle play from Gemma Phelps and Helen Roberts lead to an awesome goal.
Bowden didn’t give up and scored a slipped strike on a short corner.
The game finished with some stressful defending short corners for Wrexham and a very dangerous hit out by Li Preston. Thankfully she made a saving tackle that made up for it.
