Another great home result
W1s 3 - 1 Urmston 1
After a disappointing postponement last week, Wrexham were raring to go and take on Urmston at home.
The game started with a bang from Cara Pugovel scoring a goal in the first two minutes following some fantastic passing up the pitch.
The press, led by Emily Preston, Helen Roberts and Zoe Kershaw, kept the ball in Urmston’s half leading to another goal by Helen Roberts.
After some pressure from Urmston and a few defensive short corners, with Laila Harding making some great saves, the half time whistle was called.
Half time: 2-0
The second half continued with with more great passing between Rach Dathan, Helen Bainbridge and Jo Campbell. Urmston pressed on, applying pressure to the defence but were held off by Raz Whittaker, Lianne Preston and Shiv Henn.
Wrexham’s third goal came after Claudia Royle’s great skill dribbling up the pitch and winning a short corner. A straight strike from Ellis Lloyd-Jones struck the bottom right corner, making the score 3-0.
Unfortunately, Urmston had a break in the closing minutes of the game and 1 snuck over the line.
Final score: 3-1
