Wrexham L1s were up against Manchester Moss Park this week. The game started quickly with a goal for Wrexham following a 2vs1 on Moss Park’s keeper where a great run and pass from Emily Swinswood to Laudie Royle and Poppy Horsley who smoothly slotted it into the goal between them.
Some solid defensive work from Amy Jones, Raz Whittaker and Charlotte Tedford kept Moss Park from Wrexham’s goal. A second goal for Laudie Royle came following a pass from Helen Bainbridge and a reverse strike at the top of the D. Great movement of the ball through midfield from Bethan Taylor, Rach Dathan, and Gemma Phelps led to Laudie Royle’s 3rd goal came from another reverse strike from the top of the D.
Half time: 3-0 Wrexham
The second half was a little more scrabbly for Wrexham as Moss Park changed formation, confusing Wrexham’s midfield. This confusion led to a scrappy goal from Moss Park. The quick turnover by Wrexham won another short corner with Lianne Preston scoring a straight strike from the top of the D.
With fewer subs, Wrexham began to tire finishing the game with Moss Park scoring a second goal on a short corner on a slip pass.
Final score: 4-2 Wrexham
Player of the match: Laudie Royle
Donkey: Poppy Horsley for thinking we lost
