The U9 competition was run using the Hockey Wales 4689 competition rules where the pitches are slightly smaller than the usual mini hockey pitches and that there are 4 goals two for each opposition to score in. The four teams had a great tournament. They played each team twice giving them plenty of pitch time. The final placings were Northop Hall gaining maximum points 1st, Ruthin 2nd , Wrexhan 3rd on goal difference and Dysynni 4th. This tournament was more about fun and engaging the youngsters I hockey as a great game and this was certainly achieved. Many thanks goes to Gemma Bagot of Wrexham who organised the tournament which ran like clock work. Obviosly thanks to all the other Wrexham members who helped to make it run smoothly.
Using Glyndwr University Hockey Stadium the U11’s U13’s and U15 teams played on the best water base pitch in North Wales. The U11 started in the morning with some great hockey. The games were played with team spirit and competitively. The final positions were Colwyn Bay 1st , Dysynni Girls 2nd, Ruthin and Dysynni Boys joint 3rd, Northop Hall 5th, Wrexham from pool 1 6th and Wrexham from pool 2 7th.
