MDVLP 3-0 Clwb Hoci Eirias Development
Welcome to our rearranged home game against Eirias Devs on a lovely warm day. Wrexham started the match with 13 players. After the warm-up, Eirias began brightly, moving the ball around well. However, Andy Williams and Nathan Samuels made some important interceptions in midfield, with the ball being played out to Freddie on the right wing. Freddie Williams drove into the D and won our first short corner, but unfortunately the effort went wide of the goal. From the Eirias restart, they worked the ball into our D, but Rich Read and Tom Czismadea defended well and cleared their lines confidently. As the first half progressed, Simon and Aaron both had attempts on goal without success. Olly then made some excellent runs down the left wing, driving into the D to win another short corner, but the goalkeeper made a good save.

Half-time: 0–0.

After a positive team talk, Wrexham started the second half much stronger and on the front foot. A nice move from Keith Polden into Freddie saw the ball squared to Aaron, whose shot into the D resulted in another short corner. Andy injected to Rich, who passed to Freddie, but again the goalkeeper denied us. Wrexham finally broke the deadlock when Alex fed the ball through Andy into Simon, who turned well and calmly placed it into the bottom corner to make it 1–0 to Wrexham. Eirias responded well, putting together some good passes to enter the Wrexham D and win a short corner. Charlie Dathan produced two terrific back-to-back saves down to his right from the top of the 16 to keep our lead intact. A strong pass from Rich Read found Olly J, who picked up the ball at halfway and drove all the way into the Eirias D. He got his shot away, and Aaron got a touch to clip it into the goal, making it 2–0 to Wrexham. With Eirias restarting again, Wrexham continued to put in some great tackles, with Alex putting in an excellent defensive performance alongside Rich. Before the third goal, Aaron showed some silky skills — lifting the ball up and over a defender with a 3D skill, taking it through his legs and past him before passing to Simon, whose shot went just wide. The third goal came from Nathan and Andy combining well in midfield to deliver a lovely ball into Rhys, who, with his back to goal, cleverly got his stick to the ball through his legs and into the net, making it 3–0.
