MDVLP 4-6 Chester 6 (a)
Welcome to our second game of the season away against Chester 6s at the uni with only six players available to Wrexham. Chester kindly lent us some of theirs, making it even sides.
Chester started the game with a quick attack down the middle of the midfield into the D, only for Dan to pull off a great save. Chester gained a long which was put into the D, only for Chester to score, making it 1-0. Soon after, it was 2-0 with an attack down the wing, a cross from the right with the player hitting it on the turn. Eventually, Wrexham got into the game with a few attacks of their own, with Gaz just putting it wide of the post and Keir getting in some great tackles on the edge of the D, passing it to Simon who had his shot saved by the GK. As the game progressed, Chester scored a third similar to their 2nd but using the other wing, crossed in and tucked under Dan. Unfortunately, 3-0 with 10 mins to go till half-time. It was time for the Gaz P show with Wrexham pinning Chester in their own with a number of short corners with one finally paying off with the ball bouncing around. Gaz pops up, putting the ball under the GK, making it 3-1. Then from the restart, Wrexham intercepted the ball, getting a long corner with Steve putting it down the middle and Gaz getting the final touch in the D, making it 3-2 half-time.

So after a team Wrexham started the second with a different set of players from Chester, and soon the attack with some good play from Olly and Gaz into the D, we got across into Keir’s path who had his shot saved by the GK. Soon Chester broke out of defence into attack and scored their 4th from it, 4-2, but soon after the restart, Wrexham got back into it with a goal of their own with Gaz running down the left wing into the back line, pulling it back to the P spot for Simon to hit it into the bottom corner, making it 4-3. As the game progressed, there were some excellent saves from Dan keeping the ball out and some excellent defending from Olly and Steve, but as tiredness was creeping, Wrexham conceded two more goals, making it 6-3, but with a few minutes to go, Wrexham managed to score another from a penalty corner, with Gaz injecting it in, it stopped top of the D, pushed left, and Simon hitting it under the GK, making it 6-4 final score.

MOTM: The entire team of 6 players played excellently throughout the game with unknown lads from Chester ?????????
Special mention to Dan H who had a blinder of a game with some excellent saves and Gaz for his two goals.
Captains View: with 6 Wrexham players we all played well as usual some things to work on but overall well played, let’s keep going!
