MDVLP 2-3 Runcorn 2
Welcome to our 4th game of the season away at Runcorn 2s this game was rearranged from last week. It was a lovely afternoon and, starting with 10 players, Runcorn got the game underway, passing it straight into Charlie’s path, who hit through the midfield straight into Simon, who got his stick on it in the D into the goal ( via someone shouting to their GK to leave it, which he did ) making it 1–0 Wrexham in the first minute. Runcorn restarted the game but again Wrexham reclaimed the ball, getting a few short corners from their efforts but couldn’t convert any of them. Eventually, Runcorn got back in the game with a short corner, putting it between Rich and Dan, making it 1-1 as the first half progressed, both teams had numerous chances going forward and getting shots off, but Dan made some amazing diving saves to keep it 1-1 so that’s half-time.
After an excellent team talk, Wrexham started the second half strong, starting with a ball from Ash in midfield straight into Keir’s path, running down the right wing, passing it into Simon’s path, who put it into the bottom corner, making it 2–1 just after 40 minutes.
Runcorn restarted the game and were soon pressing the Wrexham, but rich and Franklyn were getting in some great tackles to keep them away, even saving one off the line by Rich. As the game continued, unfortunately the pressure scored from inside the d making it 2-2 Wrexham restarted and had a few short corners again, couldn’t make them count. As the game got into the final 10 Runcorn scored a third, making 3-2 than Wrexham were nearly caught out, but Olly got a clean tackle in. Wrexham did have a couple more chances but couldn’t get it past their GK so it ended 3–2 Runcorn.

MOTM the whole team – excellent game by far this season, all-round performance from back to front. Well done, lads????????view:aptain’s view:- Unlucky to lose this one plenty of positives and some stuff to work on.
