The weekend of 17th and 18th January saw the culmination of a fantastic campaign for a host of clubs across Wales, as the National Indoor Championship and Trophy events came to a close in Merthyr.
The Trophy was decided between Wrexham Glyndwr and Cardiff & Met 2, in what looked like it was going to be a tight affair. Following both teams’ comfortable victories over Penarth, however, Wrexham would go on to claim a fantastic result to lift the Trophy, overcoming Cardiff & Met 2, 5-1. This was a great result after hosting a very successful indoor tournament at the Wrexham University Sports Facilities the Sunday before. It is hoped that indoor hockey is going to feature in the calendar for Wrexham Glyndwr Hockey Club
